Meals for Students

Food is one of the main needs of every person. Every year many different dishes appear and spread all over the world at different prices. But every time many fruits, vegetables, sweets and other products become of poor quality. And at the same time, food prices rise every year and not everyone, especially students, can afford it.

Since food is the main source of human energy, I decided to do a survey among MIU students about their diet: where they eat, how they eat, how they feel after eating and what they think needs to be changed in their diet. And since I am researching the nutrition of MIU students, I looked at the dishes in the university canteen and also interviewed a former employee who now works as a nutritionist and writes a blog about proper nutrition.

Since MIU has students of different nationalities, their food preferences varied. Mongols and Buryats prefer fattier foods because they live in a cold country. Koreans prefer spicy food or seafood. Russians and Kyrgyz have approximately the same preference for dishes, first and second course. But each of them is fed up at the moment by the density of the food. According to the survey, students are mostly too lazy to cook or don’t have time to cook, so they prefer to eat at fast food cafes, which means not very good food for the stomach. Many students, even after eating a hearty meal, feel sluggish, have a heaviness in their stomach and feel sleepy. Having studied the university canteen, we can say that the food there is not particularly healthy and half of especially foreign students prefer not to eat there. In Gilgal they sell flour sweets. According to a survey of students, some of them are satisfied with the food at the university, while others would like to see healthy food sold, such as salad, smoothies, and fruits. They also added that food in the canteen has become more expensive, so it would be possible to create a separate menu for those who want to eat healthy. I asked the nutritionist what she thought about the nutrition of our students and how it could be improved. She replied that: “the food at the university is very heavy and most of the students themselves do not want to eat properly. This leads to rapid diseases such as gastritis, acne, drowsiness, decreased immunity, poisoning, and lack of concentration in class. The best way to reduce these risks “, this is, first of all, self-discipline. Accustom yourself to drink water with lemon, prepare snacks of boiled vegetables, fruits in advance, and take additional vitamins. As for food, eat on time, this will help the stomach digest on time and there will be no burden.”

In conclusion, food is very important for students and since the brain is stressed all day, there is a greater desire to eat. A good solution for this is the first is self-discipline and taking care of your health, the second is to add healthy dishes to the canteen or snacks with drinks in gilgal. And in my personal opinion, selling ready-made healthy meals in containers will lead students to get used to eating right at least once a day.
